What’s the Purpose of a Home Inspection, Am I Wasting My Money?

Buying a home can be one of the biggest and most important decisions we can make as adults. It is important to make sure we get a home we are satisfied with and can live in for years to come. Often this decision can be intimidating to the buyer and a scary experience for those who are new to the process. Many of my clients are nervous first time homebuyers. Who can blame them! There are so many things to consider about a home that determines the right choice. For instance, there is the location of the home, the price, the floor plan, the size, and whether to get a new home or an older home just to name a few. And let’s not forget, the most important things, like the condition and soundness of the home. Many people don’t know where to begin when it comes to knowing what to look for in a home. There are more things to look for than nice paint and new carpet in a home. There could be many underlining conditions that exist in a home that are not obvious to an untrained eye. This is why you should ALWAYS, ALWAYS, get your home inspected by a certified Home Inspector. This will be the best money you will spend. It could mean the difference in buying a dream home or a “money pit” that needs a ton of extra work. So, don’t gamble with your investment. Know what you are buying.
